CANdo
The Conservative Action Network (CANdo) was established by the Conservative Leadership Foundation in 2010 in an effort to create a central online hub for conservative activism.
CANdo is a 'social network for conservatives' that allows members to sign up for free, create a profile, join groups on issues of interest and interact with other members.
Members are given the ability to engage in issues that are important to them and to take the lead in creating new groups for issues that develop over time.
Utilising many of the campaign techniques taught by the CLF, CANdo allows members to organise themselves to take direct, grassroots action on particular issues.
Since its inception, CANdo has developed an excellent reputation amongst conservative activists as an interactive forum that can bring like-minded conservatives together and support them in taking public action.
The best way to find out more about CANdo is by creating a free profile at www.CANdo.org.au and joining the other activists in making a difference.
In early 2011, CANdo members rallied together against the carbon tax being proposed by the Gillard Government.
CANdo was one of the first groups to get behind the campaign against the tax. CANdo formed alliances with other organisations and designed a campaign to fight the tax.
Activists distributed flyers and bumper stickers in their local areas, attended rallies across the nation with CANdo placards and clothing. CANdo was even responsible for coordinating the 'No Tax' skywriter over Parliament House in Canberra, an image that became symbolic of that campaign (pictured).
CANdo allowed members to coordinate action in their local areas and to stay in touch with what was happening in other parts of the country.
