International Associations & Exchanges
The CLF has connections with several overseas training organisations that share our mission and our goals. This allows us to send promising young conservative activists to our affiliate training schools and leadership courses in the US and the UK.
The new skills and unique experiences that young Australian conservatives can bring back from such training is invaluable in their development as leaders and as global conservative thinkers.
These courses often run for periods of anywhere from a couple of days through to one or two weeks and present opportunities to meet and network with future conservative leaders from around the world.
In some circumstances, the CLF can seek sponsorship for individuals to participate in these exchange programs to subsidise the cost of the trip on participants.
The CLF can facilitate exchange opportunities in Australia, the UK and USA with the following organisations.
The Young Britons' Foundation
The YBF was co-founded in 2003 by Donal Blaney, Greg Smith and Ben Pickering. Since this time, the YBF has become the premier institution for training conservative activists in the UK.
The Leadership Institute
The Leadership Institute was founded in 1979 by Morton Blackwell. The LI trains and mentors thousands of young conservatives every year. Many high-profile politicians and conservative thinkers are graduates of their school based in Arlington, Virginia.
The Young America's Foundation
The YAF is primarily focussed on teaching American conservative students how to communicate their message to fellow students. Boasting the largest campus lecture program in the US, the YAF has a presence on college campuses across America. They also operate the Reagan Ranch.
The Competitive Enterprise Institute
An organisation dedicated to the core conservative principles of free markets and small government, the CEI has grown since 1984 to a staff of over 40 people. The CEI conducts research and strongly promotes its results in the public policy process.
The Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute
Founded in 1993, the mission of the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute is to prepare women for effective leadership and to promote leading conservative women. By providing them with the resources, role models, and encouragement they need, they help students prepare for future success in their workplace, school, and community.
Network of Enlightened Women
The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) was founded in 2004 to foster the education and leadership skills of conservative university women across America. NeW is devoted to expanding intellectual diversity on college campuses and meets regularly to discuss current political issues and the opportunities and challenges facing women today.
