Internships
The CLF offers a structured 10 week internship program for young conservatives.
After selection, interns are supported by the CLF in designing and planning a conservative advocacy program that can be implemented at a local or national level.
Interns are also provided with the opportunity to work with State and Federal members of Parliament to let them experience politics and activism in action. At the completion of the program, CLF interns travel to Canberra to meet with other participants from around Australia. Each intern is expected to present their work and advocate for its implementation as part of the CLF leadership and action training schools.
- A weekly stipend;
- Full access to all CLF training materials;
- Work experience with State and Federal members of parliament;
- Opportunities to network with other interns;
- Travel and accommodation to Canberra for graduation; and
- Job placement assistance after graduation.

Louise English is a second year student at Australian National University in Canberra, studying economics, politics and Arabic.
Louise spent several months in Adelaide completing a Conservative Leadership Foundation internship.
“I was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in the Conservative Leadership Foundation’s internship program, working in Senator Cory Bernardi’s office.
“It gave me the opportunity to conduct research and improve my skills in media, social media, campaigning, research and much more. I also gained knowledge about other conservative groups around the world and what they have achieved.
“It was also a wonderful introduction to the inner workings of a political office and politics in general.
“Overall, it was a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone to apply. It is a fantastic program, focussed on practical political work which benefits conservatives around the country.”
After graduating, Louise hopes to work for the public service in either the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Department of Defence.
