CLF PROUDLY SPONSORS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE

The Conservative Leadership Foundation was proud to be a primary sponsor of this year’s International Young Democrat Union (IYDU) annual conference in Sydney.

The IYDU is the peak international body for centre-right youth political organisations around the world and Australia has the honour of hosting this year’s event.

The conference gives Australian conservative leaders the unique opportunity to network with and learn from more than 120 delegates from over 50 countries who share similar values through a commitment to small government and universal freedom.

The Conservative Leadership Foundation is dedicated to supporting conservative young people to achieve leadership positions in politics, academia, business and the media.

Through sponsoring organisations such as the IYDU, the CLF is fostering the development of tomorrow's leaders in Australia and beyond.

CANdo REGISTERED AS AN INDEPENDENT ORGANISATION

The Conservative Leadership Foundation has today announced that its grassroots action network, CANdo, is in the process of being registered as a company limited by guarantee with an independent board of directors.

This decision will allow CANdo to develop its full potential under the management of a dynamic and experienced team.

CLF National Director Geoffrey Greene said “this is an important step for community activism and I am delighted that the CLF has been able to encourage more individuals to step up and play a role in community activism and leadership.

“The CLF has seed funded a number of initiatives and backed individuals with good ideas in their desire to make a difference in the public debate.

“Seeing one of our initiatives take the next step and become an independent organisation is confirmation that the CLF approach of fostering and mentoring Australia’s future young leaders and inspiring community action can reap long-term rewards.

“I congratulate the new CANdo board for having the vision and determination to build on CANdo’s impressive record of community activism. On behalf of the CLF, I look forward to hearing of the continuing success of CANdo in supporting grassroots community action.”

NEW CLF INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATE

The CLF is pleased to announce another member of the growing list of CLF International affiliates: the Network of Enlightened Women (NeW).

NeW was founded in 2004 to foster the education and leadership skills of conservative university women at the University of Virginia. Within a year, NeW began to expand across the United States to over a dozen campuses.

NeW is devoted to expanding the intellectual diversity on college campuses. NeW members meet regularly to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing women today, as well as current political issues.

The CLF and NeW share similar goals and core principles and we look forward to working with NeW to further foster the development of young conservatives in Australia and the United States.

CLF SUPPORTER ON INSIGHT

Congratulations to Mabor Tut for getting accepted onto the SBS Insight program in early October 2011.

Following an email from the CLF asking all supporters if they would be interested in participating in the programme, Mabor applied and was successful in getting on the show.

It is great to see young conservative political activists getting involved in the public debate!

NEW CLF OFFICE!

The CLF has moved! The new office is located in the Bert Kelly Research Centre in Adelaide.

We now have access to a library, training facility and conference room. The next step is to engage a full time professional administrator to co-ordinate the growing activities of Australia’s pre-eminent conservative training organisation.

We share the Bert Kelly Research Centre with some other like-minded conservative groups and look forward to using the new facilities to further grow the CLF.
